New Cistern Ornament

This dropped through the door this morning, the 2011 Hitchcock's Soft Pornorama. The 2010 copy can now be replaced from it's position of honour on the cistern above the throne. Not really much new for the Classics other than the prices, lots of extra pages on EFI models and a section covering Amal carbs and bits in the back.
There is a new oil pressure relief valve been added, cuts in at 30 PSI and splices into the rocker feed line and diverts flow back into the tappet adjustment window.
Bound to be more in there on closer inspection, got a year to find out.

Saw this yesterday whilst searching around that well known internet auction site. You know how it goes, it was there at £35.00 with nine hours to go, and the questions were flying through my mind, Do I want it?, What would I do with it?, Where would I put it?, what the hell let's watch it anyway. I missed the close of play, but looking this morning revealed it went for £107.00, not knowing what the other max bids were of course doesn't say what it would have gone to had I have pitched in.
Did I want it?, I still ain't sure, but it would have looked nice all polished up again.

Marauder Disaster

Went to a little gig over towards Saffron Walden yesterday, a few of my old mates turned up including my long time pal Chris on his 77 T140V. Chris is a fan of off roading and trail biking big time. He told me that he came over, on his standard Bonnie, mostly off road and the tracks were hard and for the best part flat. So when it came time to leave I went back with Chris who inevitably took the more adventurous route home! I've done a bit of trail riding in my time and the thought of doing it at night holds no fears, and the Marauder coped admirably, big singles seem to thrive on this sort of work.
What didn't fair so well however was the seat, as shown above, I thought the cover had finally fully torn across the back as that's been tatty for some time. On closer inspection this morning it was revealed the mattress spring set up has broken in half, oops!
Looks like an order to Hitchcock's some time today is in the offing.

Feeling a bit of a fraud......

When I started this blog I was full of grandiose ideas of how I was going to build a cool custom Bullet. Those of you that follow this blog, whom I thank, are waiting for some action, I appreciate that. As you are aware the hardtail, or lack of, has really halted any progress.
I still have no date from Hitchcock's and no reply from Briz at Custom Cycle Developments, I have just mailed Allan Hitchcock again for a sit rep, fingers crossed on that.
With all the down time and lack of tangible stuff to post I have been scouring the web for pics and stuff from elsewhere relating to custom Bullets. Apart from the stuff being built in India, where they seem to be going down an OCC type of road, there really seems to be very little being done out there. This makes it all the more important to get this thing moving in a forward direction again.
The world is our small bi-valved mollusc my friends, if we could only get the bloody shell open.
